P0107: OBD-II code P0107 means the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor is reading impossibly low pressure — usually a bad sensor, a shorted signal, or an unplugged sensor.

MediumPowertrainAir Intake

Symptoms

  • Check engine light is on; engine may run rich, hesitate, or stall as the PCM defaults to a fallback fuel map.
  • Rough idle and poor throttle response because MAP is a key input to fuel and spark calculations.
  • Fuel economy drops noticeably from the PCM's default open-loop fuelling strategy.

Common causes

  • An unplugged or damaged MAP sensor with no signal reaching the PCM.
  • A shorted-to-ground signal wire between the sensor and the PCM.
  • A failed MAP sensor with an internally shorted signal element.

What to do?

Check the sensor's connector and vacuum port for tightness. Read live MAP kPa at idle (should read ~30-40 kPa) and key-on-engine-off (should equal barometric, ~100 kPa). If stuck low, replace the sensor after verifying the signal wire is not shorted to ground.
