B1884: Passenger Airbag Disable (PAD) Indicator Light Circuit Failure

Symptoms

  • Airbag warning light active on dash
  • Passenger airbag status indicator light on the dash panel remains unlit

Common causes

  • Blown light bulb or failed LED within the passenger airbag status display panel
  • Damaged wiring harness leading to the center dash display panel
  • Faulty Body Control Module (BCM) or SRS module logic

What to do?

Remove the center dash trim panel housing the passenger airbag status light indicator. Test for voltage arriving at the bulb/LED harness when the ignition is switched on. If voltage is present but the LED fails to light up, replace the light/switch assembly.
