B1000: Electronic Control Unit (ECU) Internal Performance

Symptoms

  • Multiple body electrical failures (power windows, locks, lights)
  • SRS or BCM completely unresponsive
  • No communication with the body control module

Common causes

  • Internal hardware failure inside the Body Control Module (BCM) or SRS module
  • Software corruption within the control module
  • Voltage spikes or jump-starting errors damaging internal circuits

What to do?

Perform a hard reset by disconnecting the vehicle battery for 30 minutes. Check all power and ground feeds going to the affected module. If power and grounds are good, the module must be reprogrammed or replaced entirely.
