C1763: OBD-II code C1763 flags a fault in the right rear ride-height position sensor input — the suspension controller can't measure that corner's height.

MediumChassisAir Suspension

Symptoms

  • The 'Service Ride Control' warning is displayed and levelling on the right rear corner is disabled.
  • The vehicle may sit higher, lower, or crookedly at the right rear because the module cannot verify its height.
  • Adaptive damping at that corner reverts to a default level while the sensor input is unavailable.

Common causes

  • A failed right rear ride-height sensor with an open, shorted, or noisy output signal.
  • A bent or disconnected sensor linkage that mechanically decouples the sensor arm from the rear suspension.
  • Damaged wiring or a corroded connector between the right rear height sensor and the controller, often near the trailing arm.

What to do?

Inspect the sensor arm and its linkage for damage. Read live right-rear height data — it should change smoothly when the corner is loaded and unloaded. Verify sensor power, ground, and signal wiring. Replace the sensor and recalibrate ride height as needed.
