B3045: Anti-Theft System Signal Low

Symptoms

• Engine cranks but cuts out after 2 seconds or fails to crank entirely
• Security indicator light blinking quickly

Common causes

• Short circuit to ground in the anti-theft sensor line
• Faulty pass-key key cylinder or transponder ring
• Corroded connectors on the security harness module feed

What to do?

Trace the security data line from the ignition cylinder back to the body module. Check for short circuits to ground using a multi-meter. Ensure the harness is not rubbing against sharp metal structural brackets behind the steering wheel.
