B2607: Immobilizer Inhibit Circuit Malfunction

Symptoms

• Vehicle security warning active
• The engine will crank but cannot achieve combustion

Common causes

• Faulty immobilizer module or smart key module
• Open or short circuit in the communication wire between the anti-theft module and PCM
• Corrupted rolling key code sync

What to do?

Perform an anti-theft system parameter reset using a compatible diagnostic scanner. Check wiring schematics to verify communication link integrity between the security transponder ring, body module, and engine computer. Repair any open communication lines.
