B00A0: Occupant Classification System (OCS) Malfunction

Symptoms

• Passenger Airbag Off light stays illuminated with an adult occupant
• SRS warning light permanently visible on dash

Common causes

• Defective passenger seat weight sensor mat
• Spilled liquids on the front passenger seat shorting the OCS mat
• Out of calibration OCS module

What to do?

Check for physical damage or wetness on the passenger seat. Attempt an OCS system recalibration using an advanced diagnostic scanner. If recalibration fails or the sensor mat is physically failed, the lower seat cushion/sensor mat must be replaced.
