B2477: Module Configuration Failure

Symptoms

• A newly installed module (BCM, SRS, or Cluster) fails to operate
• Erratic vehicle network behaviors and mismatched options features

Common causes

• Installing a replacement module without programming it to the car
• Mismatched VIN or configuration string inside the vehicle network
• Incorrect variant configuration selected during setup

What to do?

Connect a manufacturer-specific diagnostic computer (e.g., Ford IDS, GM Tech2/GDS2). Execute a module configuration setup, parameter reset, or programmable module installation (PMI) procedure to download the correct As-Built configuration data into the unit.
