B2425: Driver Seat Heating Element Open Circuit

Symptoms

• Driver's heated seat fails to warm up
• Heated seat switch button indicator lights up then turns off immediately

Common causes

• Broken heating grid wire element inside the seat cushion foam
• Defective heated seat control module
• Damaged or pinched wire under the driver seat frame

What to do?

Locate the seat heating element power plug under the driver's seat. Use a digital multi-meter to check for continuity/ohms across the element leads. If the meter displays an open circuit (OL), the heating element embedded inside the seat fabric/leather must be replaced.
