B0091: Left Side Restraints Sensor 1 Malfunction

Symptoms

• Airbag light illuminated on the dashboard
• Side impact deployment capabilities disabled

Common causes

• Defective side-impact impact sensor located inside the left door or B-pillar
• Corroded door-jamb accordion boot wiring harness pins
• Water ingress inside the door shell damaging the sensor

What to do?

Inspect the wiring harness that passes through the door jamb boot for broken wires due to door opening/closing fatigue. Remove the inner door trim panel or B-pillar panel to check the sensor connection for water corrosion. Replace the sensor if water damaged.
