How can I tell if my Toyota hybrid battery is starting to fail?
Watch for fuel economy dropping off, the engine running more and refusing to stay in EV mode, the charge gauge swinging between extremes, and the battery cooling fan running loud and constant. One sign on its own is usually something else. Two or three together point at the pack.
What score is considered good for a Toyota hybrid battery?
Toyota doesn't show a health figure on the dash. Carista scores the pack 0–10 from live cell voltages and block resistance: 8.5+ is Good, 7.0–8.5 is Monitor (worth rechecking every few months), below 7.0 is Aged.
How long does a Toyota hybrid battery usually last?
Toyota covers it for 10 years or 150,000 miles on 2020-and-newer models (8 years/100,000 miles on older ones). Real-world life often runs past 200,000 miles. Heat and long idle periods age a pack faster than mileage alone.
Can I test my Toyota hybrid battery myself without going to a dealership?

What dashboard warnings mean I need a battery check right away?
Stop and get it checked for the red triangle with "Check Hybrid System", the hybrid warning icon, or reduced-power (turtle) mode. Book soon, but don't panic, for a check engine light, rapid charge-gauge swings, or a constantly running cooling fan — a scan will tell you whether it's the pack or something cheaper, like a blocked battery fan filter.
